Erin C. Fleig OTR/L, CHT is the owner and sole practitioner of Barrington Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation since it's opening in 2006. As a Certified Hand Therapist/ Occupational Therapist, Erin has over 30 years of experience in rehabilitation therapy with the past 25 years focused on the specialty of upper extremity injuries. After graduating from Boston University in 1991, Erin received her training in adult rehabilitation at New York University Medical Center. She became the Senior Hand Therapist at a private orthopaedic practice in lower Manhattan where she worked for most of her career. Returning to Massachusetts to open her own practice was fueled by a desire to provide a comprehensive quality of care to a community that could benefit from her expertise in upper extremity rehabilitation. |
In 2015 Erin created an ergonomics onsite consulting practice, Wirkspace Ergonomics, as a response to a growing need for clients to implement efficient positioning during work tasks in order to resolve their symptoms, prevent future injury and increase productivity without pain because ultimately work shouldn't hurt. |
Erin has been an active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists since 2001 and is a frequent participant in conferences with the American Society of Surgery for the Hand. When she has time to remove herself from the office, she can be found gardening, biking, kayaking, running, snowboarding, skiing or just simply smiling because she is lucky enough to live and work in the Berkshires.
